Emanuele Krakamp

Biography

Emanuele Krakamp was born in Messina on February 13, 1813 and died in Naples in November, 1883. He studied music with his father and quickly gained a virtuoso technique, which permitted him to tour throughout Europe and North America as a concert artist. In 1841, he took the post of principal flute with the Court Orchestra of the Count of Syracuse, as well as a assistant post at the Conservatory S. Pietro. In 1860, he was named professor of woodwinds at the Naples conservatory. He published over three hundred works as well as methods for flute, clarinet, bassoon and oboe.

Emanuele Krakamp est né à Messina le 13 février, 1813 et mort à Naples en novembre, 1883. Il étudie la musique avec son père et, devenu rapidement virtuose, il fait des tournées à travers l’Europe et l’Amérique du Nord comme soliste En 1841, il accepte la poste du flûtiste principal de la cour du Comte de Syracuse ainsi qu’une poste d’assistant au Conservatoire S. Pietro. En 1860, il est nommé professeur des instruments à vent au Conservatoire de Naples. Il édite plus que trois cent œuvres ainsi que des méthodes pour flûte, clarinette, basson et hautbois.
