AKANE
Les Voix du Japon

AKANE is a five-voiced female a cappella
vocal ensemble composed of Japanese professional singers who have
come to France for specialized study in French vocal repertoire. Directed
by Moyuru MAEDA,
the ensemble performs original arrangements of Japanese folksongs,
French traditional songs as well as original compositions written
especially for the ensemble. They are currently scheduled to perform
in upcoming seasons throughout Europe and Japan, both in concert performances
and in Jean-Thierry
Boisseau's new opera "Neo Konjaku Monogatali". They
will also be recording their debut compact disc later this year for
release next Winter.
Noted for their precise intonation and
ensemble, AKANE has also been praised for its extreme musicality as
well as their superb interpretations of works from both the Eastern
and Western traditions.
Because of their unique repertoire,
AKANE is equally at home in classical concerts as well as in World
Music Venues. Their programs which mix works of both Eastern and Western
religious traditions would be a wonderful addition to Sacred Music
Festivals.
Works written for the Ensemble AKANÉ
are published in the AKANÉ collection published by Musik Fabrik,
which includes works by Moyuru
MAEDA, Paul
WEHAGE and Jean-Thierry
BOISEAU.
